Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the services provided by HostDEWA ("HostDEWA", "we", "us", or "our") and is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP. Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of your account and services.

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines the principles that govern the use of services provided by HostDEWA. This policy is designed to ensure the integrity, security, and reliability of our network and services, and to protect our customers and the internet community from illegal, irresponsible, or disruptive activities.

By using HostDEWA's services, you agree to comply with this AUP. We may modify this AUP at any time by posting the revised policy on our website.

2. Prohibited Uses

The following uses of HostDEWA services are strictly prohibited. Engaging in these activities may result in immediate suspension or termination of your services without notice and may also subject you to civil or criminal liability.

2.1. Illegal Activities

  • Transmission, distribution, or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation. This includes, but is not limited to, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property right used without proper authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws.
  • Activities related to child pornography or exploitation.
  • Fraudulent activities, including phishing, pyramid schemes, or any other deceptive practices.

2.2. System and Network Security

  • Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of a system or network or to breach security or authentication measures without proper authorization.
  • Unauthorized access to or use of data, systems, or networks, including any attempt to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of a system or network or to breach security or authentication measures without express authorization of the owner of the system or network.
  • Interfering with service to any user, host, or network, including, without limitation, mail bombing, flooding, deliberate attempts to overload a system, and broadcast attacks.
  • Forging any TCP/IP packet header or any part of the header information in an email or a newsgroup posting.
  • Distributing viruses, worms, trojan horses, or other malicious software.

2.3. Email and Messaging

  • Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam) or commercial electronic messages.
  • Operating an open mail relay.
  • Harassment, whether through language, frequency, or size of messages.
  • Sending email messages that are excessive and/or intended to harass or annoy others.

2.4. Resource Usage

  • Consuming excessive amounts of server resources (CPU, memory, disk space, bandwidth) that negatively impact other customers or the overall performance of our systems. Specific limits may be outlined in your hosting plan.
  • Running cron jobs with intervals of less than 15 minutes.
  • Operating public file-sharing, bit torrent, or other peer-to-peer services.
  • Running any type of web spider or indexer (including Google Cash / AdSpy) on shared servers.
  • Running any software that interfaces with an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network.

2.5. Content Restrictions

  • Hosting or linking to content that is: defamatory, libelous, harassing, abusive, threatening, racially or ethnically offensive, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Hosting adult content, pornography, or sexually explicit material on shared hosting services.
  • Hosting material that promotes illegal activities, or advocates violence or hatred.

3. Enforcement

HostDEWA reserves the right to investigate any suspected violations of this AUP. We may, in our sole discretion, take any action we deem appropriate, including but not limited to: Issuing warnings (written or verbal). Suspending or terminating your services without prior notice. Removing or disabling access to content that violates this AUP. Reporting illegal activities to law enforcement authorities. Charging for costs incurred due to AUP violations.

We will attempt to notify you of AUP violations and any corrective actions taken, but we are not obligated to do so.

5. Revisions to This Policy

HostDEWA reserves the right to revise, amend, or modify this AUP at any time and in any manner. Notice of any revision, amendment, or modification will be posted on our website.
